A Truly Unique Recruitment Experience

So, you’ve just graduated and you’re freaking out about finding your first job. You’ve applied to dozens, if not hundreds of jobs only not to hear back from anyone. You’ve had one rare and awkward interview with a recruiter who stops listening to you as soon as you mention that you don’t have any work experience.  You’re done with the never-ending cycle of needing work experience to get work experience. You’ve even started to question the point of getting a degree if the job market is what it is.

 

We’ve all been there, and we understand how hard it can be.

 

Here at Velv, we decided to do something different. We decided to set up a truly unique hiring experience for the positions of Junior Managers for our team. The only requirement to be considered for the position is – applicants needed to have no previous experience.

 

We know, we know, it’s weird. Let us explain.

 

First of all, the fact that most companies require job experience for all of their junior positions is a bit odd. We all started without any job experience, so why do so many companies have so much against giving recent graduates a chance? Why are unpaid internships a reality in 2021, when all they do is exclude talent and create a difficult and stressful environment for these new hires?

 

At Velv, we strive to help our employees become the very best they can be and truly invest and nurture the amazing talent that’s out there. When we first posted the job ad, we had an overwhelming positive response to our initiative. It provided us with the opportunity to really connect with some awesome graduates, meet some amazing and talented people and understand the struggles that recent graduates or facing in today’s job market. It was an eye-opening experience and as we continue to grow, we hope to be able to provide similar opportunities and help more and more people develop their talent and careers.
