How gaming impacts our lifestyle

We are avid gamers at Velv. Not only we love to play online or versus A.I., but we also love to share with each other our scores, our achievements and, of course, the classic competition console vs PC. For some it’s an escape for others it’s a routine that is so embed in our lifestyle that we don’t even notice it. It really doesn’t matter how old you are, if you like gaming it stays with you maybe forever. This month has been crazy good for this industry, with the launch of the PS5 and Xbox new generation consoles. Before that in September it was graphic cards like the RTX 3090. Along with that we are hoping for new games like Cyberpunk 2077, whilst playing AC Valhalla, or COD. It’s a good time to be a gamer!

This week, a new study from Oxford actually claims that games are good for mental health. At least they have identified that most people that play are happier in general. We trust this kind of studies from such a high reputation university. At velv we aim to provide a good life balance between work and personal life to all our employees. We support gaming and we have a Twitch channel that our teams use to promote their own channels, and where we do online competitions. We are also giving away some new consoles for new joiners. So you can play with work colleagues, your friends or just by yourself. There’s nothing wrong with gaming and having that as a hobby, as long as you align that with other healthy goals like exercise and having a healthy diet. The impact of your decisions on your lifestyle is defined by a good balance between them all. Keep gaming, and keep being happy!
